Sadly, I know almost nothing about eating healthy so I'm looking for possibly a meal plan and recipes. Anything that could help really. I'm trying to get toned and was told that I need a low fat diet.

I think you could make a serious dent it but you'd also need to watch what your eating. Stay away from white pastas and breads with yeast in them. yeasted foods will blowup your stomach like a ballon. Youmight also want to start taking probotic capsules once a day to maintain a healthy digestive tract and to get rid of bloating that can make your waist seem larger.Snacking is ok actually but it's what and how you snack. You could try eating smaller meals and more frequently.Add salmon and chicken to your regimen as well as plenty of fresh steamed veggies & salads. I have found fruit to be too sugary but apples would be great for you.Don't over do it at first because you don't want to end up with muscle spasms that will prevent you from continuing to exercise.I hope your running shoes are good quality because that makes a difference.Try not to eat dinner after 6pm and if you're hungry after that say like before bed, a small bowl of good quality granola will take the edge off of it. Good luck

Have a protein shake after you finish your workout. It will help stimulate muscle recovery. I would suggest a low carb and moderate protein diet. Your body will go into ketosis and you will lose body fat, rather than fat & muscle like you do on a low calorie diet.

Yeah well that might be true if you already reached your weight goal. But when your dieting, you usually are overweight. Thus you should watch how much you are eating, even though the carbohydrates are restricted. I’m not sure why you should burn fat rapidly if you provide your body with unlimited fuel.

You don't need to cut back on just fat. Fat in the food you eat does not go straight to fat cells in your body. It's the calories. Cut back on calories, all around, and you will lose weight. Fats are good, they're necessary. Cut out the unneccessary junk like fried foods, things with too much plain sugar, and switch to whole grain breads and pastas.

yeah, we shouldnt be on a low cal low fat diet. People should be on HIGH FAT HIGH CALORIE DIET. LET THE OBESITY RATE GO UP SOME MORE. 10 years from now everybody will be obese and one more problem, when you tell somebody they’re fat, they get mad. WHEEW

starvation is not a good idea, as soon as you start eating again you'll bloat like ****! im not sure what your diet is like just now so its hard to say what adjustments to make but just try to incorporate as much fruit and veg into your diet as possible like if you have cereal add some fruit to it, try to switch fries for vegetables etc. do sit-ups/crunches to tone your stomach but remember what most people forget- no amount of sit-ups will get you a great stomach unless you also do cardio as well to get the fat burning off. great stomach muscles are pointless if theyre hidden by a layer of fat! combine crunches with walking or jogging and a healthier diet and you'll be on your way to a great stomach
oh and if you have big love handles make sure you do some kind of love handle reducing exercise! i didnt do that and ended up with a flat stomach but still huge love handles so i still looked pretty pudgy

the truth of the matter is that you need to do cardiovascular exercises and abdominal exercises. the cardio exercises(cycling running swimming) will burn off any fat and the abdominal exercises will build the muscle. also you need to eat healthily. visit http://www.ab-core-and-stomach-exercises.com/abdominal-exercises.html and that hould get you started

dont listen to this guy,
HIGH FAT, HIGH CALORIE, LOW CARB? are you kidding me?
go for
HIGH CARB- which you should get mostly from vegetables and fruits. Dont indulge too much on potatoes and rice or bread though. you can have it but eat mostly vegetables and fruits
MEDIUM AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN= too much protein damages the kidneys and liver, and once you go low on carbs you will get ketosis.
LOW FAT= how can one fat person, lose fat if he is on a HIGH FAT DIET?
LET HIM EXPLAIN THIS ONE

Build more lean muscle. If you can build lean muscle mass your body will burn more calories. Muscle burns more calories just resting than body fat does. If you do short amounts of cardio intensely its better than doing it for an hour sustained. I always do 15 mins of cardio before a weight lifting session and I gain around 1 lb per month in lean body weight.

Wow that is like a lot of calories!!!!!!!!!!!
slow down. drink a lot of water, which will help u get more full.
dont go in the kitchen. only for breakfast, lunch and dinner. buy your own food, skim milk, fruit, salad, veg. and nonfat snacks.

If you start working out and eating healthy, including fruits, veggies and whole grains with low fat protein (like chicken and fish), you will start to see results fairly quickly. But you have to continue to reach your goal. Don't do the pills unless you are ready to pay for them. The "free trial is not so "free". If you don't stop them within 14 days from the day you ordered, they will charge the credit card for the full amount, and they can be expensive. So be careful. Don't believe me? I copied their conditions of ordering statement for you to read yourself. Hope you do well with your new eating plan and your exercise schedule. You'll tone up in no time!
CAREFULLY READ AND AGREE TO PURCHASE TERMS BELOW BEFORE ORDERING:
I understand that by ordering Acai Elite, I am agreeing to receive Acai Elite for a free 14-day trial period (days of availability for actual usage could be less depending on shipping time) beginning on date of order. $4.95 (non-refundable) for S&P. I understand that unless I cancel by calling 1-866-949-0138 within this 14-day period, beginning on the 14th day my credit card will automatically be charged $87.13 (Free Shipping) for a 31 day supply of Acai Elite to be shipped at that time to my door.
Thereafter, until and unless I cancel, my credit card will automatically be charged an additional $87.13 every 31 days for a new supply of Acai Elite. I understand that I may cancel any future shipments Monday through Friday by calling 866-949-0138. Our hours of operation are from 8am to 5pm MST.
We do not accept returns on any products that have been shipped. Acai Berry Elite

you will lose SOME fat, but definitely no abs without "dieting"
but I hope you don't have the wrong idea about "dieting" — it's more like, healthy eating… physically healthy and fit people DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DO CRASH DIETS!!!! They make no sense as people will not eat that way for the rest of their lives, yes you may lose a few pounds with them, but you will definitely gain them back and maybe even more…
instead it's more like "healthy eating" it's actually not as bad as you may think… how is it that you eat now that you absolutely cannot change at all?? by you saying "you get so hungry and end up eating a lot" sounds to me like you've been going about it the wrong way… i would say I'm healthy (5'2 115 lbs f) but i LOVE food, like all kinds of food, so I DEFINITELY am not the salad/no fast food kinda girl… but I do watch the QUALITY of my food…
so look at the food you eat – if you are eating any breads, make sure they're whole grain/whole wheat – if you're eating meats, try to make most of them lean meats like fish/chicken/turkey/ (and there are good substitutes out there for regular stuff like turkey burgers are delish and turkey bacon etc etc you just need to try them!) definitely incorporate fruits and VEGETABLES… and if you're like my boyfriend who cannot eat vegetables because he feels like a "rabbit" try different ways of cooking them, like grilling veggies are so yummy! just google up healthy meals and tons of actually delicious stuff will come up… things that ARE filling without the empty calories…
and very importantly! DO have your "cheat days" because not only do they provide motivation and something to look forward so that you don't cheat during the other days, they actually do help you lose weight believe it or not, it helps your metabolism and kinda shocks it in a way which is a good thing, and by 'cheat days' i mean once or twice a week eat practically whatever you want (not too crazy though) but you know like me i eat healthy and exercise during the week, then weekend rolls around and there's mcdonalds and all that good stuff lol!
so good luck and please really look into eating healthy good foods, NO DIETS diets are bad! and remember importantly eat breakfast to get your body out of starvation mode…
good luck

You should differentiate between a “starvation” diet and a “calorie restriction” diet. Cutting 50% of an “average” 3000 calorie diet is certainly too much. Cutting just 30% however, may actually improve health. Look up some videos on “calorie restriction” and see for yourself.

This man is flipping my knowledge of weight loss upside-down. So if a reduction in calories doesn’t make you lose weight in the long run and if cardio an hour a day for every day breaks down muscle tissue- then what do I do to reduce the amount of body fat I have for good?
