Body Care Products for a Healthy and Beautiful You!!

There is nothing better than maintaining a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy food, drinking lots of water, exercising regularly and getting proper sleep and rest. All these steps ensure a healthy body and healthy skin. But, you must also use some body care products to enhance your natural beauty.

These days, you can find a range of body care products in the market. Body shampoos, creamy bars, moisturisers and deodorants are some of the many body care products available nowadays.

These body care products help to preserve the natural beauty by slowing down the ageing process and maintaining a healthy body and mind. Creamy bars and body shampoos are essential to remove the dirt and oil from your skin. They exfoliate the dead cells and refresh the skin, making it look fresh and young. It is important to use moisturisers as they supply essential oil to the skin and prevent drying and ageing of the skin. If you want glowing and radiant skin, use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser on a daily basis. Together, these body care products will create a healthy ground for beautiful looking skin and body.

Use natural body care products as they are safe and prevent skin allergies like rashes, acne or blemishes. Natural products are also environmentally-friendly. They do not cause any harm to the environment around us. By using organic body care products, you not only care about your body but also about the environment.

Deodorants are one of the most essential body care products. There is nothing more pleasing than a soothing fragrant body. Made with mineral salts, deodorants eliminate bacteria that cause body odor. Deodorants are available in various forms, such as spray, roll-ons and sticks. You can find a romantic floral deodorant or a strong musk fragrance.

Deodorants can be found to suit every occasion and mood. But, be careful while selecting a deodorant. There are many deodorants that contain synthetic, petroleum based and alcohol based products. One must go for chemical-free, mild and long-lasting organic deodorants. Ingredients such as mineral salts, baking powder are natural anti-bacterial agents for fighting body odor, whereas essential oils such as aloe-vera and hemp oil give a natural fragrance to the skin. Also, try to avoid deodorants that are antiperspirants as they prevent the natural body perspiration.

Question and Answer

What are some vegan, non-animal tested brands of hair and body care that are cheap and easy to find?
I have been looking for brands of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, etc. that are not only not tested on animals but are also vegan. I would really like to find something affordable that could be found at target or Walgreen's, but if its cheap enough I don't mind buying online. So far, the only brand I have found is JASON, and even that can be hard to find. Any suggestions?

Beauty Problems That Makeup Cosmetics Can’T Solve

Does your skin have blackheads or enlarged pores? Perhaps your problem is whiteheads. You may have tried all sorts of makeup cosmetics to cover up these skin blemishes, and spent plenty of money in the process. They do deliver what they promise, which is to cover up your problem. The trouble is that you will have to keep buying these make up cosmetics to hide the faults in your skin since they will never make the problem go away. You should be addressing the problem from its root cause so you can eliminate it. This will decrease your dependence on makeup cosmetics.

In case you have blackheads, you will have to remove them physically. They get formed when dead skin cells and sweat block a hair follicle on your face and cause the pores to swell. Dirt and impurities get stuck in these enlarged pores and your face will have black dots on it, particularly on or around the nose and chin. They are very unattractive to look at and give your skin a rough appearance and texture. You can get to buy blackhead removers from any beauty shop. These are long thin metal objects with a wire circle at one end. Hold your face over a gently steaming pan of water in order to open up the pores. Use the remover to push the blackheads out. You could also remove them using blackhead removal strips. Use a medicated face wash after you are done and finish off with a very light moisturizer. Do this gently and as infrequently as possible. You could damage your skin when you force the blackheads out.

Enlarged pores happen when the sweat glands on your face are over active. The large open pores on your face are very unappealing to look at as well. Buy a special face wash that will reduce the oil on your skin. It would be better if you could ask your dermatologist to prescribe you one. Whiteheads are another common problem, though not as bad as blackheads. These too are caused by the accumulation of oil in your facial pores. Use a gentle facial scrub regularly to get rid of them.

Never use a harsh scrub as that could cause fine lines and wrinkles to form on your face. The common factor to all these problems is the extreme oiliness of your skin. It is best to focus on preventing them from forming on your face. Use a gentle face scrub everyday and buy a good quality toner. Reduce the amount oil in your food and try to improve your diet. No amount of beauty treatments will improve your looks if you do not eat healthy. Increasing the amount of water you drink and wash your face with plain water many times a day. Do not waste your hard earned money on makeup cosmetics to address these problems. There is no easy way around them and you will have to remove them physically if you want your skin to look smooth and flawless.

Girls – Would you date a guy who spends more money on personal care/beauty products than you do?
Let's say he's absolutely attracted to women, he's smart and successful, but he just happens to know more about beauty care than you do…. He ONLY uses salon shampoos etc. Would you still date him? Or would that be a turn off?

Just wondering…. lol

Keeping up with the fashionable hair and beauty industry

Hair products online are always changing to keep up with the latest fashionable hair brands and products in the hair and beauty business. Today pop stars such as Pixie Lott, Cheryl Cole and Girls Aloud are just some of the trend setters for adults and teenagers.

The modern version of hair additions, as they were referred to in the 1920’s, and now called hair extensions are back in fashion. No longer do you have to try and grow your hair just after you have had it cut, no longer do you have to wear a full wig. Professional hair and beauty products have developed to include clip in hair extensions ranging from lengthy real human hair clip in hair to a shorter clip in fringe.

When a person chooses to use hair extensions to restyle their hair, they can have a colour that matches their own natural hair or go for a different shade. Whatever the colour, human hair clip in hair extensions are made to blend in or contrast with a persons own hair colour. Real human hair can withstand heat, so using styling accessories in the form of hair straighteners or curling tongs is allowed, but care must be taken not to overheat them.

Take care of your own hair and extensions with the correct professional hair and beauty products. Show that you over your hair extensions just as much as you love your natural hair by using quality hair products. Online shopping is an easy way to keep up with the latest fashionable products and research relevant information before deciding to purchase. At Just Beautifully we think that there is no age limit when using professional hair and beauty products. However, a person who has thinning hair may find that our clip in hair extensions give more volume to their hairstyle, thus giving them the self confidence they may have lost.

List of different careers in the skin care/cosmetic/beauty industry?
What are the different titles and areas I could get into in the cosmetic field?
I have a passion for skin care and makeup. I plan to go to cosmetology school when I can, but until then what are some things I can do to get started/get my foot in the door to the industry?
Can anyone give me a list of the different occupations within the beauty industry? I know the main ones like hair stylist, makeup artist, etc. What are some other not so well known careers in the area? Any advice? Thanks!

Are Your Body Care Products Killing Your Skin?

Every day, millions of people are using products on their bodies. Products to cleanse, products to moisturize, and products to make the body smell good are being used more today than any other time in history.

Both men and women have a constant barrage of marketing aimed at them concerning products to use on their bodies. Within the last decade, mens body care products have become the norm, rather than the exception.

Today, at least with younger men, you will be hard pressed to find someone who is not using some type of product designed especially for use on mens bodies. These products are well known for their masculine fragrance.

So, what do you know about these products? Products for both men and women have their biggest selling point through fragrance. How many times have you been in to purchase shampoo and found yourself (or seen another customer) opening lids and smelling the product?

Of course, the scent has absolutely nothing to do with how well the product actually cleanses the hair. The scent is a major marketing ploy; one that works very well. That scent is artificial and if you begin asking people around you, you will find that many of them are allergic to these artificial fragrances. Sometimes, they cannot even be around someone who has fragrance like these on their body.

One of the things that you need to be able to do is read your labels. This is not to imply that you do not know how to read; you need to be able to understand how the ingredient labeling process is done and what the ingredients mean to you.

Ingredients are listed in the order of volume used in the formula for the product. This means that the first ingredient is the biggest amount of the product. In many products, you will find that this first ingredient is water; if you read your shampoo label and see that water is first, you know that the shampoo is more water than anything else. This process of listing ingredients is common to all of your body care products.

Aside from understanding how the listing works in reference to the amount of each ingredient, you should know about certain ingredients. Remember that not all ingredients are actually good for your skin, even though the product has been marketed for use on the skin. Your body will appreciate you for paying more attention to what your purchase for your body care products.

If possible, you should buy certified organic products. These products do not carry hidden dangers from man made chemicals. If it is not possible for you, you will want to take care to buy body care products that are free of certain ingredients. These ingredients include:

Mineral Oil: this ingredient actually catches environmental debris and mixes with it, clogging pores and causing blackheads, whiteheads, and irritation. Because of the trapping tendency of mineral oil, toxins are attached to your skin which can result in faster signs of aging.

Wax: this substance should be used sparingly. It is almost impossible to avoid using a total skin care system that is completely wax free, but you should know that wax can clog pores. As with mineral oil, this clogging results in blackheads and whiteheads. Unlike mineral oil, wax does not tend to attract environmental debris and trap it in pores. Wax is often found in body care products that are creamy.

Lanolin: the biggest problem with lanolin is that it can be an allergen. If you are experiencing irritated skin, this may be the reason.

Acetone: this toxic substance strips the skin of essential natural oils. Wrinkles result faster through this excessive dryness.

Alcohol: this may be listed as ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, or SD alcohol 40. Like acetone, alcohol strips the skin of its essential natural oils. Again, the excessive dryness causes wrinkles to appear earlier than they would otherwise.

Artificial coloring: often, the base use to create artificial colorants is actually toxic.

Petrolatum or other derivatives of petroleum: your skin is not able to absorb these ingredients, and they act as attractants to environmental debris. Blackheads, irritation and white heads frequently occur with regular use of these products.

Keeping a careful eye on labels will help you avoid many of the skin irritations that are quite common today. You will also prevent premature aging because you are not using ingredients that accelerate your skins genetically planned aging process by trapping toxins on your skin and in your pores or by over drying your skin.

Question and Answer

What's the one makeup or body care item that you cannot live without?
Everyone has that one self-care product that they would sorely miss if they couldn't have it anymore. Mine would be lipbalm and lotion. What's yours? You can even mention a specific brand if that particular brand is just superior to the rest in your opinion.

Wax Beauty Care – Men Love it Too

Posted by: admin | Comments (18)
Wax Beauty Care - Men Love it Too

One of the movements in beauty care in past years has been that of hair removal. It seems as if hair is positively out and everyone wants a smooth, hairless body. In reality, the human body is almost completely covered with hair, with the exception of the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. This makes for a worthwhile business for those who are licensed for hair removal. Although there is more than one hair removal method to choose from, wax beauty care has long been one of the most common methods of removing hair. And women are not the only ones buying into this American beauty skin care removal craze. Men are also among frequent clients, getting their backs, chests and other areas hair-free with hair waxing.

Waxing has long been a favorite method of those seeking to be smooth. Waxing requires hot wax to be poured on the area and then withdrawn by having strips stuck on and pulled off along with unwanted hair. Although this method is often painful, it is cost effective and can last a while, which keeps many customers coming back for more American beauty skin care. Another selling point for some is that waxing can be applied by professionals in a salon or can be done in your own home with one of many self-waxing kits sold in stores. For people not wanting to spend a lot of money or have the process done in a public salon, home waxing can seem ideal.

There are a number of areas on the human body that people choose for wax beauty care. Women have made waxing extremely popular for their legs and bikini areas, particularly during summer months. Since waxing keeps areas hair free longer than shaving and often prevents the area from becoming irritated with small red bumps like shaving sometimes does, waxing has grown more and more popular. However, while shaving can be done to smooth areas with even the shortest stubble of hair sprouting up, to wax an area you must wait until a certain length of hair has grown in so the wax has a substantial length of hair to grip onto and pull out. Another benefit of waxing is that the treatment makes hair grow back finer each time. That means that each time the hair grows back after waxing it will be thinner and easier to eliminate.

Since bikini waxing has become so popular in recent years, there have been a number of different bikini waxes designed depending on how much hair a woman wants removed. This allows women to have a number of choices when it comes to bikini waxes. Most of the time, the person working in the salon where you get your bikini wax will be able to help you if you are unsure about what type of wax you are seeking. However, numerous women have an idea in mind when they schedule their waxing appointment. Standard bikini waxes remove the hair around the bikini line, making more attractive to wear a bathing suit. This is perhaps the utmost popular bikini wax. However, the waxing does not stop there. A full bikini wax eradicates all pubic hair except for a strip, while a Brazilian bikini wax takes off all hair in the bikini area. The names of the waxes can vary from salon to salon but these are typically the varieties of waxes offered.

Wax beauty care, particularly bikini waxing, is done in a private part of the salon, so do not worry about others viewing your wax. Your position during a bikini wax is quite similar to your position during a gynecological exam. If you are desiring a full or Brazilian wax you may find that it is necessary for you to get into different positions for the person doing the waxing to reach all areas of hair. But since salon employees who administer bikini waxes likely do numerous waxes each day, they are used to the process and you should not feel embarrassed. Results of bikini waxing typically last anywhere from ten to twenty days, then you will likely be ready for another American beauty skin care appointment. And keep in mind that since the hair must be a certain length in order to be erased with waxing, you will have to go at least a few days with a considerable amount of stubble.

What's Hiding in your Bathroom - Part 2 - Toxic Free Skin Care Solutions

DISCOVER WHAT IS HIDING IN YOUR BATHROOM!

(Part 2)

REVIEW FROM OUR LAST ARTICLE

In our first article we discussed the differences between popular buzz words used frequently in the cosmetic industry like pure, non-toxic, and natural. We contrasted the differences between these type of products and Seven Arrows Color Connection’s Toxic Free product line (http://www.toxictruth.com ). In this article we will discuss the harmful ingredients contained in the everyday products that we use and how they cause damage and harm to the biggest organ in our body … the skin.

WHAT IS IN SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS?

When you read most ingredient labels carefully you will find the majority of the ingredients listed there to be synthetic. In fact, most of the ingredients used are synthetic or artificial. Why? The answer, upon closer investigation is really very simple. The answer is money.

To plant, grow, harvest and otherwise create a truly “natural” ingredient is time consuming, labor intensive and expensive. Natural ingredients, if not carefully controlled during the growing period could contain inconsistencies in their potency. That is to say, some crops may yield higher concentrations or strengths in the plant. This would impact the formula or end result of the product and could affect the consistency which would dramatically impact the end result.

The consumers could experience one jar that you only need to use a little of and another jar that you would have to use a lot of to achieve the same result. This could become very confusing to the consumer. Natural and pure could be better but may also produce challenges.

When an ingredient is created synthetically, there are a few things that can happen. First, you have control over the potency of the ingredient. Second, you have an abundance of it and because you have created it in a laboratory in huge amounts, it becomes less labor intensive meaning it is cheaper to produce than a naturally grown ingredient. Third and probably most important to the creators is that the process to create the ingredient can be patented. A patent means that you can produce it and sell it to hundreds of manufacturers. This means you can put it in your own product and sell it, but you can also sell the basic ingredient to every other personal care manufacturer to put in their products and make money off of it. It suddenly becomes a very lucrative business.

Although we do not believe big business and industry would intentionally try to “poison” their consumers, if an ingredient has not been “proven” to be hazardous and the claims that it might be harmful are only speculative, and if the company that manufactures it is making money off of it, they will continue to do so at our expense until it becomes so obvious that they have to package with disclaimers or take it off of the market completely. A perfect case in point is the tobacco industry.

First their products were distributed without any warning labels on them at all. Then the label said they might cause a health concern and then finally the label reads a huge warning that the surgeon general has proven that the product is harmful or fatal to your health. Finally there is a warning that has some teeth in it, but how many years did it take to get there? 40? 50? No matter, it was a long time.

The sad part of this story is that there were “preliminary” warnings out there but because they could not be proven beyond any reasonable shadow of a doubt, they were seen as “one sided and inaccurate”.

What kind of warnings have you heard about the ingredients in your personal care products? The parabens, sodium laurel sulfate, glycerins, sunscreens, etc. What warnings have you heard and ignored? Or, worse yet, what warnings have you NOT heard? What is being said about the products (or ingredients in the products) that you are using? How “safe” are they? For more information on some of these ingredients and the damaging effects they have on your body, visit www.helpme.com.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Good News. With all of this information available to us, we may begin to think: “What’s the Use?” Or worse yet; “There’s nothing I can do”. Both of these statements would be incorrect and self defeating. There is plenty that you can do.

One of the purposes of this treatise is to inform and educate consumers of the actions they can take to safe guard their health. Ignorance is the worst excuse, whereas knowledge is power. The information offered here will help to arm you, the consumer, and make you wiser in your purchases.

The information in this article is helpful, however, the real remedy lies within you and the amount of education you are able to receive. The first place you should begin to discover what is really invading your body can be found on each and every label.

We read labels when it comes to food. We count carbs, grams of fat, cholesterol, etc. We are becoming a very food savvy generation and we are not afraid to ask for “pure” bottled water with our “natural” veggie burger and fresh garden salad with the fat free dressing on the side.

In other words, when it comes to food, we know what is good for us and what is not and we are not afraid or timid when it comes to giving instructions to restaurant owners and waitresses on what we will take into our bodies and what we will not.

WHAT GOES INSIDE?

The skin is the largest organ in our body. Each square centimeter is filled with:

• 6,000,000 cells

• 5,000 sensory points

• 100 sweat glands

• 15 sebaceous glands

Your skin IS the largest organ of your body, consisting of approximately 3000 sq. ft. Every square inch of your skin contains oil glands, sweat glands, thousands of nerve endings, millions of cells and several feet of small blood vessels.

The main functions of the skin are to keep out foreign substances, protect the underlying tissues from injury, maintain adequate moisture in the tissues, regulate body heat and temperature, and act as a receptor organ for the sensations of touch and pain, and aid in the elimination of water and waste materials.

In order to remain healthy and vibrant the skin must take in oxygen and nourishment, eliminate waste materials and reproduce new cells. One of the main functions of the skin is to protect the underlying tissues from bacteria or disease. Therefore, the surface of the skin is slightly acidic, which protects us against bacteria and environmental pollution.

When considering the skin and its functions, one of the most important things to understand is that the skin is an organ that absorbs chemicals. It is especially susceptible to petroleum chemicals.

It used to be thought in the 1960’s and early 70’s that the skin was an impenetrable shield. Many believed it was like an armadillo shell and that it would keep everything out. Modern research, however, has proven this is not the case.

The skin is an oil based organ and has an affinity to oil based substances such as petroleum. Research substantiates that these various ingredients are absorbed into and through the skin and that there are health risks associated with most cosmetic personal care, oral care, and household ingredients. Further medical research has established to what degree different substances can penetrate the skin.

Modern medicine delivers drugs internally through a process called trans dermal application. What that means is that you put a product onto your skin topically and because of its molecular structure, it is able to migrate through the skin, use the body’s own natural fluids to penetrate to the inner organs delivering the medication necessary to achieve the desired result.

This is a wonderful break through for modern medicine, but if they can deliver medication or other substances to the organs through a topical application, how many other chemicals or harmful ingredients are we absorbing into our internal organs every day? Is it any wonder that so many people are suffering from “new” and different types of disorders? Wouldn’t it be possible for us to be “poisoning” ourselves slowly without even knowing it?

The very same type of molecules that are used to make drug patches, like for motion sickness, breaking the nicotine habit or birth control are formulated to the very same molecular size that a PEG is made from. PEG stands for polyethylene glycol. Each number behind the PEG on a label indicates the molecular weight. The low numbers up to 400 may cause hives and aczema. PEG is made by ethoxylating Propylene Glycol and may contain dangerous levels of dioxins.

When you read the ingredient labels on the back of your personal care products, look for those ingredients that are labeled as a PEG. When you discover these ingredients, you will be looking at something that is designed to penetrate the skin. You will be looking at something that has also been designed to emulsify. This emulsification process takes place inside your skin using your own oil to emulsify with water which is, binding up the inside of your skin so that it doesn’t operate right.

Now you have a double problem. 1. Your skin doesn’t work correctly because it is bound up inside and, even worse yet, 2. You are delivering to your sensitive, tender, internal organs those ingredients that may deliver damage and even cause the organ to stop working altogether.

Because of the advances in the chemical industry, we are now able to make ingredients with a molecular structure so fine that it can penetrate the skin. Now, instead of the skin being the first line of defense and protecting the inside of the body from an invasion of harmful ingredients, it has become a “carrier” organ that assists in delivering these harmful substances right to the very organs it was designed to protect! What is the end result? For many, it is weakness, poor health and in some instances, even death.

Question and Answer

Who should be responsible for toxic body care products leaching into the environment?
More and more research points to destruction of our environment from body care products. Who should be financially responsible for cleaning it up? Companies who make them, consumers who use them, or all of us through taxation for government clean-up?

Published July 11, 2007:
Chemicals found in household products like antibacterial soap and plastic bottles are found in sewage water that is discharged into San Francisco Bay, posing a threat to wildlife and humans, according to new data….The inspectors found three types of chemicals — phthalates, bisphenol A and triclosan. All are suspected of interfering with hormone systems of humans and wildlife…"We're involved because we know that these compounds are out there, and we cannot treat them in the wastewater stream," said Charles Hardy, EBMUD spokesman.

We Have Found a Safe Organic Natural Body Care Product

Searching for an organic natural body care product? Companies can use the words organic, natural and hypoallergenic, regardless of the ingredients that they contain. The term doctor tested and recommend is another of the unregulated phrases. You may as well call them sales gimmicks.

It is no doubt that the use of naturally occurring oils, botanical extracts and similar substances are better for your skin’s health and the environment, as well. It is just that finding a product that actually contains them is difficult.

The US FDA recommends that consumers carefully read the list of ingredients, but that’s difficult for most of us. How many people know that Butyrospermum Parkii is Shea Butter? What’s alpha-tocopherol, ubiquinone, petrolatum or oxybenzone?

Cosmetic manufacturers are required to use the International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients on their labels. Most consumers find that difficult to read or understand. There is now way that I could completely “translate” all of the ingredients that you might find on the label of an organic natural body care product.

In the past, I have listed some “clues”, such as warning labels to look for, but lately, it seems that nearly everything must be viewed with caution. California has always been ahead of the game when it comes to environmental and consumer protection.

They recently sued four manufacturers of “organic” body cleansers, because they were found to be contaminated with high levels of cancer-causing Dioxane. The companies must correct the problem, include a warning label that the products cause cancer, and/or pay a fine.

But, what about anyone who bought that organic natural body care product? The whole thing is scary and saddening, but I do have a solution.

I have found a company that I believe in. They make some of the best vitamin supplements in the world and now they have a complete line of skincare products. I believe in them, because they test each raw ingredient for contaminants. They check the final batches, as well. This should be standard practice for manufacturers, but it isn’t. Someone has to make them aware of a problem and it is usually independent consumer safety advocates that initiate the process.

If they started with the safest ingredients, checked them for contaminants and followed up by testing the completed batch, then they could be sure that their customers were safe. So, before you buy an organic natural body care product, check out the manufacturer’s website. Find out what testing protocol they follow. You’ll be safer and happier in the long run.

Look for alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) and ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10). Avoid petrolatum, which is white petroleum jelly. It causes greasiness and clogs the pores. Avoid oxybenzone, a sunscreen that has been proven to cause damage to DNA within the cells.

Vitamin E and COQ10 help delay the signs of age, as do other nutrients, when properly combined and emulsified. So, that’s my advice for finding an organic natural body care product that is truly safe and effective. Please take a look at my website now.
