Help answer the question
How common is it to get the skin disease vitiligo?
I have a very distant cousin who has it, and I'm wondering if it's genetic. Also, is this a rare disease, or is it actually very common and just not talked about? I'm African American and proud of my color, so naturally, I don't want to lose it. Not to mention the cost of treatments, and the possible need to bleach my skin to even everything out. I know it's silly, but I'm nervous about it. Does anyone have any information?

OmG don't you copy and paste this EVERY day? Are you ever going to stop with your propaganda? The first time I read it, I tried to keep an open mind. Then I saw that you posted it again and again and again. Obviously you are just trying to spread your propaganda.

to be honest, the stereotypes you posted are usually proven false about gay people
- gay people dont like to get dirty, or any filth on them
(truth: not all gay people don't mind getting dirty. there are more masculine types that will get dirty from hard work. good hygiene dose not influence your sexuality)
- all gay men has hiv/aids or some kind of disease
(truth: not all gay people have STDs. different types of people can have STDs and its not based on your sexuality. how they get STDs are from bodily fluids, even straight people can get STDs. some of them are from seman, blood transfusions, or needles)
- being gay is also being effeminate, and thinking like women
(truth: being more feminine like dose not influence you to be gay. there are straight guys who are more feminine than other straight guys. that is based on their personalities)
- excessively expressing his inner feelings
(truth: expressing your feelings dose not mean you are gay. if you are honest with yourself or feel it is necessary to get something off your chest, you are more likely to express your feelings
- ironically enjoy talking to women more then other men, only cause they tend to share something in common, like a friend kind of thing
(truth: gay people tend to connect with different people of different genders and sexuality. its based who you are more comfortable with weather it be another guy or the opposite sex)
- prefers lighter and smoother skin
- one of the most important body to worry is lips, skin, and hair
(truth: just because you worry about your appearance dose not mean you are gay. some people would like to look better than others and some don't worry about their appearances as much. this has nothing to do about sexuality of a person)
to sum this up, people are different, it dose not matter if you are gay or not if you share some of these traits. being gay means you are attracted to the same sex for romantic, sexual, and emotional reasons. most of the gay people want someone to love like straight people, some of them are in a very healthy relationship that they been together for years. its not all ways sexual why we are attracted to the same sex. some of the gay people are good parents as straight parents. your sexuality dose not effect how you raise your kids weather you are gay or not. your sexuality is based on your personality, you can't change your personality as well as you can't change your sexuality

Reality check.
The philippines has good sound laws but corrupt political influences always delay the implementation of these laws.
By the time these laws are enforced, they become so obsolete that another law must be passed (just like the politicians who regularly pass gas – i.e. fart through their mouth).

I'm not saying you don't have it – but chances are very good that you don't have it. It's possible, but not probable. I met a man once with Cushing's Disease, and from what I could see, there was seriously no doubt that he was very ill.
You might consider talking to your doctor and asking for a complete endocrine work-up, or even a referral to an endocrinologist. It's more likely that you have PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, which causes menstrual irregularities, hormonal changes that commonly include facial hair or excess body hair, acne, and diabetes. It's associated with excess weight, and the question is: does fat cause PCOS or does PCOS make you fat?
By far, the best treatment is low carbohydrate eating, which manages insulin levels and thus decreases cysts on the ovaries, reduces weight, and helps return the endocrine system to a balanced state.

I LOOOOOOOVE both your kitties!! Is te other a long haired siamese or a himalayan? My kitty looks just like that one except she is medium hair. Funny, she is a mutt but looks like a pure breed. anyway. That is true about white animals having that problem. Now here is a scenario that doesn't equal, but are kinda the same. My son had the eye boogers too. real bad, his eyes were actually crusted over each morning. He had tear duct surgery. Eye doctor said blockage could occur again. A year and half later hasn't returned yet. My point being, the surgery could actually work. If it comes bck again, so be it. That means your cat could have the boogies rest of his life.

The answer above me is foolish. There are many racial differences. First and foremost scientists have found geographical ancestry and race correlate well. The black african race was defined as someone with ancestors originating in black africa. Guess what they found? People from sub sarahan africa are genetically defined by haplogroups(genetic clusters) found no where else. This was also found for western eurasia, eastern eurasia, north america, south america, and the pacific islands. In terms of ethnicity affecting people the same is found. Black americans take in more salt thanothers, native americans absorb more fat, etc. And the differences between within a group say nothing. There is more genetic difference in a tribe of monkeys than within the entire human race. Does that mean monkey don't have tribes?

I found the following on a web site:
Severe side effects:
severe headache, dizziness, blurred vision;
fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
urinating less than usual or not at all;
pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, fever, confusion or weakness;
severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate;
loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness.
So it sounds like you may be having a pretty severe reaction to the medication. Call the doctor.

Good question. It's good that people like you have the courage to say things like that in life. I don't know the answers, but well done, controversiality is missing in our lives.
