Never to Late to Start a Diet !!!
By
Many people make their New Year’s resolution to lose weight. While they start out with good intentions, far too often the weekly drudge of sticking to a diet can wear thin quite quickly and before they know it their good diet intentions have fallen away. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to stick to your diet resolution without giving up before the excess weight goes away.
One of the most important things you can do to ensure that you stick with your weight loss goals is to write a contract with yourself, promising to stick with the resolution that you have made. If you want to lose a specific amount of weight within a certain amount of time, be sure to include this in the contract along with what you specifically plan to do to lose the weight. Post the contract somewhere you’ll be sure to see it everyday.
Setting goals is an excellent way to make sure that you stay on track with your weight loss plans; however, it is important to ensure that your goals are manageable and not too broad in scope. Due to the fact that dieting can become tiresome very quickly, you may find it helpful to energize your diet with a new goal each week. This gives you something to work on, and even look forward to, each week. Examples of small goals you can set for yourself include starting an exercise routine, cutting out sodas, drinking more water, etc.
Small goals are also a great incentive to work your way up to larger goals, an important component of sticking to your diet plans. Rather than saying you plan to lose weight this year, instead make it a point to commit to losing a specific amount of weight within a definite time frame. This helps to ensure that you do not put off your weight loss plans indefinitely.
As with any major change in your life, it’s generally always easier to accomplish your goals when you have the help and support of friends and family. Make a point to inform those close to you that you are dieting and what you hope to accomplish. In addition, it’s always a good idea to let them know exactly what you’re doing to lose weight so they do not unintentionally sabotage your diet plans. The presence of a weight loss buddy who can keep you on track and motivated will significantly decrease the chances that you’ll give up before accomplishing your goals.
Most people function well under a rewards system and losing weight is no different, provided that you ensure your rewards support your diet and do not undermine them. While you may look forward to enjoying an ice cream sundae after reaching a weight loss goal, think of other rewards that you would enjoy and keep your diet intact. Consider rewarding yourself for every milestone you reach, such as every five pounds lost. Positive reward examples include a manicure, massage, new book/CD/DVD, new shirt, etc. Significant weight loss goals, such as 25 pounds or 50 pounds, could warrant a larger reward such as a weekend trip or something else meaningful.

A great way to stay on a healthy diet or to exercise and stick with it is to do it with a friend. You each become each others support and you can motivate each other while working towards similar or different goals. If this isn't an option for you, then have someone check up on you, say with a phone call or something. They can ask what you've eaten today and what kind of physical activity you've been doing. Remember, having another persons attention on something can be a great help, but make sure you are exercising and dieting with someone you feel comfortable with. Setting similar goals might lead to unhealthy competition, so make the goals personal and separate, while using the same methods to reach them. Good luck!

Your body most likely is going into what is known as the "starvation mode." It means that when your body gets food it will hold onto it for fear nothing else is going to be given to it. You need more than a 100 calories for your body to JUST function and with the exercise even MORE than to just maintain a weight.
You need to start off with a good breakfast with all the food groups – have a snack -then lunch all food groups- have a snack -all food groups at dinner and again, a small snack at night. Your body has to start working right – Green tea is great to improve the metabolism but you need to eat BALANCED meals and then you will start to see results when you put the exercise piece into your life too……

i think the key to a successful diet is following one you can stick to. you dont have to eat salad and fish every day to see results. you already know your weak points, now just how to adjust them. here are some ideas. i will go in order of your list. 1- carry a water bottle with you, or try flavored water. if i have a bottle with me, i tend to drink it.. flavored water is really quite delicious, and 0 cal. 2-diet soda instead of regular.. if you enjoy soda, thats ok, just make it a diet. there are too many calories in soda to drink it every day. 3- dont eat seafood. chicken breast and turkey breast are staples in my diet.. they must be grilled and skinless. 4- i hate to cook, i will cook 5 or 6 chicken breasts on the grill and put them in tuperware. this will allow me to only cook every other day instead of every day. 5- fast food is a killer, just make better choices. a grilled chicken sandwich w/o mayo from mcdonalds is a good choice, they also offer salads and such, just say no to the whoppers. 6- i need to eat breakfast, its good to if you can, if it is a matter of time, get something on the go such as an oatmeal bar. be careful with these as some contain alot of fat and sugars. read the labels. 7- eating late is also not the best thing in the world but sometimes thats how it is. again, just make sound choices, dont scarf down a pizza and wings and then go to bed, if you want to get more in depth here, send an email. i hope this helps for now. good luck

This video sucks. It makes veganism sound boring as hell, like they ONLY eat fruit and vegetables, and mostly uncooked… There are so many other good foods that don’t contain animal products.

Yes, this is too fast. Diet pills WILL help you loose weight, but once you stop taking them, you'll gain back all that weight. When you make a permanent lifestyle change, the weight you loose is the weight you keep off, so your change in diet should be permanent, as should your exercising. You are losing weight to fast, the MAXIMUM is 2lbs a week. Stop with the diet pills, and you'll probably loose weight at a healthy pace. What I've done, is not diet, but I've changed my diet to fit with what the government says we should eat, lots of whole grains, smaller portions, I just eat healthy, and I've intensified every day activities (park further away, I wear weights on my ankles) and I've lost 15lbs since April. Long time, yes, but it's the result of permanent changes and it will stay off for good. Diet pills are a great way to loose a few pounds for class reunion or something, but should not be used when you want to keep weight off for good.

YOu can't get pregnant from oral sex. And I think you should look into birth control before you go any further.
You are VERY young to have a regular period. Most girls your age don't, and your period changes over time. Stress can also play a big factor in your period. If you are very stressed out, you can easily skip periods. If you are underweight, exercise too much, don't eat right and don't sleep regularly, you can also skip periods. The spotting you had may very well have been a very very light period.
PS, sweetie, you probably wouldn't be peeing any more than normal, nor would your stomach start to show this early in pregnancy. You may want to see a doctor because sometimes amenoria (lack of period) is caused by illness or disease, so you may want to find out more to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

Good description of your case history.
The only thing that you don't refer are the prices of glucose in blood.
At the moment, I can say from my experience as a pharmacist, that you are doing everything well.
Try also to walk at least one hour daily or to practice aerobic.
I suppose that now you have already moderated your diet according to your doctor's recommendations.
So, don't worry. Tell me something else. How are you testing your blood sugar and when? Are you doing that yourself at home?
Do you keep records of the measurments?
Has your doctor told you when to measure glucose?
What are the prices of your blood pressure? Is it normal?
What is your weight?….I don't want to sound rude but it has to do also this. We worry more for individuals having central obesity than for the ones having accumulated fat around the hips. You know, today we are talking about the metabolic syndrome, because sometimes these 3 things
(diabetes,hypertension, atherosclerosis)coexist.
What about the prices of glucose, aren't they diminished?
The previous answerer is right ; don't drink even that glass of wine and be patient.
Ask about fiber ; if you have not any problems with your intestine you can take it and it is a very helpful food supplement in many cases.
Think about all these and if you feel that you want something more, feel free to come back and then cross the information with your doctor.
OK MsKnowltAll,
This means that this medicine works to you.
A small tip: if you do the measurements and you have the cold, maybe you will find higher rates of glucose than you normally do ; don't worry, it is normal.
Your doctor has told you that there is no need to do these measurements frequently. This is his professional opinion, I am not going to say something different. Maybe he has seen that you was anxious and he didn't like to tell you to do also this.
I will tell you when it is correct to do these measurements, so you will know and you will decide yourself what to do.
Before meals and 2 hours after meals and before going to bed (in one condition: you had the last meal 2 hours before going to bed). It has to be normal at this time.
Usually, doctors are recommending to create a diagram, a curve, using the prices found in blood measurements; I know that this is the indication that they use today in order to say if somebody is diabetic or not and to control the sucess of the therapy, not a single estimation of blood sugar.
How to create this curve, is another issue and you can get informed asking your doctor(if he is negative, ask your pharmacist or a patients association or I can e-mail you information). What I know is that in order to create this diagram, you have to take a certain amount of glucose and do some blood measurments in a certain period of time.
Think about keeping your arteries and veins in a good condition, controlling your food. Diabetes is a disease that can affect the vessels if you don't pay attention(each vessel has three parts, three coats and the internal part, that is more vulnerable in our case, is called endothelium).
I don't want to scare you with this, but you have to know everything, so you will know how to protect yourself. I do the same with my clients, in the pharmacy.
You have to take antioxidants like vit. C and vit. E that can be found in oranges and in olive oil(mainly). Eat the whole orange, don't drink just the juice, there is some difference: the whole orange contains also fiber that is beneficial. Now, what about the quantities of vitamins that you have to take daily? For example if you have to take 135mg. of vit. C daily, where will you find it and how many portions you have to eat in order to take it?
We all know that vit.C is present in all the green vegetables, not just in oranges.
Are also important the omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, in order to control colesterol and good vessel's condition.
There is a site that you can visit, it is the http://www.usda.gov go under the food and nutrition section then click on what's in the food you eat in order to take valid information about it.
So, you can educate yourself that I am sure you did already after your doctor's instructions.(don't exagerate with oranges, they contain fructose but be prudent)
There are also other sites that you can visit but my opinion is not to stay all day thinking about that. There are also other beautiful things to do,no?
It is also important to be calm and confident to the therapy. I always say that this is the other half of a successful treatment.
I came back and I have added something on the curve that we create for the estimation of diabetes. Have a look.

Diet definitely affects your menstrual cycle. Especially if you are losing weight. I would not worry, as long as you are not underweight or for instance have an eating disorder like anorexia.
You will get your period. Your hormone levels change with diet changes, so your body is just adjusting to the diet and weight loss.
It's great that you are eating healthy. Also, if you are exercising or doing a more physical daily routine that can also affect your period cycle.
Don't worry. Sometimes you can even skip a month. To be on the safe side, if you don't get it by next month, then you could see your doctor just to be on the safe side, that you are not pregnant.
It sounds as though your period is just late due to your recent weight loss and diet change. Your body will adjust and your menstrual cycle will start soon. Hope I helped.
