When Choosing Low Cholesterol Diet

The subject of diet is much discussed one of late. Its importance in relation to one’s perfect health is understood better now by the health-conscious people. A good diet can build your life. A bad diet though can break it.

Low cholesterol diet is one of the favorite subjects of the physicians to discuss with their patients.

When your physician talks about the diet, in relation to the levels of cholesterol and gives you long lectures on the benefits of the physical exercises, you wonder whether he is your physician or the physical instructor.

The pet advice of the physician would be to reduce the fat content in your diet. Animal fat, meat and dairy products are the number one culprits to increase the level of your blood cholesterol. Taking control of your diet is one of the easiest methods to tackle the levels of the cholesterol, but it is unnecessarily being made complicated by you. Such an easy option messed up, for lack of self-control. Your taste buds do most of the damage.

Low cholesterol diet is an easy option. Hitherto, you were not properly aware of it. Once you begin with this diet discipline, you will rather like it. You may even wonder why such a lifestyle was not adopted by you earlier. Your daily menu could be somewhat like this: One cup of skim milk every day. As for vegetables, take up to five helpings per day. You need to take brown bread, sprouted grains and fresh beans. It is better if the non-vegetarian food is avoided altogether because most of them contain high cholesterol agents. Also, choose liquid vegetable oils like sesame, sunflower and olive. Make salad eating a habit. Let your breakfast be ruled by vegetables and fruits.

The paths to lower cholesterol are many, and you need to choose your own path. Your intelligent physician may reel out many types of information on the diet pattern, only you need to choose, which is the best option for you. The educative information and literature available on the subject of cholesterol is plenty. You need to read and judge which one is the best option for you.

So, it is an interesting change of course in your life as for the diet. Your effort to lower the cholesterol level will also bring some other ancillary benefits to improve your overall physic.

Question about low cholesterol levels?
A clinic nurse said my cholesterol level was right at 40 & it needs to be higher, but I looked online and 40 was normal. I'm 27, male, 5'10, 175 pounds, great physical shape, heavy smoker, non-drinker. She said I need to get on a low fat, low cholesterol diet. So 40 isn't good?

non cholesterol diet

I think it's great that you are so informed. Why don't you make a search that shows up on your "my yahoo" page whenever anyone asks about cholesterol so you can educate people? When you do a search, at the bottom there's a button that says "add to my yahoo".
There are a lot of stupid people in the world and they just want points for answering. That's why people who know what they are talking about, like you, get frustrated and leave Answers.
BTW, I'm morbidly obese and my cholesterol level is something like 130 which no one believes. I know it has nothing to do with diet!

Informative presentation—favorited. Thanks for posting.

Here’s how you share the slides: search for “slideshare” or “scribd”. Use either, both are good. Or you could create presentations that easily share with a web editor: search “280slides”

I say pick tap vs bottled. there is a huge amount of information out there – heaps of people have studied this, it is fairly straight forwrd and relevant to everyone. Especially if you touch on the crisis water bottles are adding to the rubbish and landfill issue.

This is why I eat some sort of saturated fat with EVERY meal. Coconut oil, butter, animal fat.. You need it! -Wonders if it is possible to rebuild bone structure that has been deformed through having consumed anti-nutrient food for one’s entire life-
I imagine the osteocytes are no different than any other cell in regeneration and development. Being replaced much like any other cell. My teeth are totally messed up, I would like to build new ones! LOL

Thanks for this. I put it on my blog today (TheSkinnyOnline) so my readers can learn!! Thank you for posting it.

Meaning most of what we know nutritionally is wrong and based on 75 years of hearsay.

9

your problem is that your are explaining everything in far too much detail

example

Monounsaturated fats are found mostly in canola, olive and peanut oils and foods made with these oils, nuts and seeds. These fats help decrease total and LDL blood cholesterol.

Polyunsaturated fats are found in oils made from sunflowers, safflowers, corn, soybeans, nuts, flaxseed and sesame seeds. These fats have been found to reduce total and LDL blood cholesterol levels, particularly when eaten as part of a diet that is lower in fat.

change to something like "The article explains the effect of monounsturated and polyunstaured fats and gives examples of the types of food they are in"

You can do drastic surgery like that on most of your explanation

Cool. I recommend it.

I agree 100%.

The great Albert Einstein was vegetarian as well.

"So I am living without fats, without meat, without fish, but am feeling quite well this way. It always seems to me that man was not born to be a carnivore."

12

i'm not going to strain my eyes to read all of that…

1. Yes, legumes are excellent sources of protein with little fat, no cholesterol, and they taste good.

2. Meat and Beans are high in protein.

3. All of the above. Saturated fat and cholesterol lead to major health problems in today's populations. A reduction in these will pay off in the long run.

mottdog2002, what do you mean by nutritionally the world is still flat?

Our governments benefit from the food industry just as they do from the alchohol/tobbaco industries. They put our health in 2nd place to maximise profits and stimulate economy. The western world it advised to eat mostly breads, rice, grains pasta, flour, cerials ect which all happen to have a long shelf life and have no risk of turning bad (rotten) to tranport from place to place.Thx to greed the western world has become seperated from nature and become obese and/or depressed. GR8 post again Dr Mot
